We invite in professionals to share their favorite money topics to give you different strategies and perspectives. We also connect with each other at our social Financial Friends events where we share different money experiences. There are also Webinars-On-Demand, an online community, and more.

As a mentor and advocate, The Pledgettes Founder Jenn Uhen heard from many women that they will start investing “someday,” or that growing up the extent of the financial education they received was to save their money.

Jenn also saw that women who were confident and clear with their financial goals had these “right-time, right-place conversations.” Jenn had a number of those conversations and saw the impact it made her in life.

Jenn built The Pledgettes to democratize access to financial literacy, build a supportive space for women to evolve their relationship with money, and create connections so no woman is going after her personal financial goals alone.

Jenn and her husband have clear financial goals, which include a diverse portfolio of investment property, retirement accounts, and businesses. All while living a minimalist (but comfortable) lifestyle, including traveling the country in an Airstream.

Jenn Uhen is a Certified Financial Education Instructor. Jenn works with clients on financial clarity and financial confidence to enjoy their financial journey.

Jessi, Book Club

Jessi was an avid reader before The Pledgettes. As one of our first members, I remember Jessi telling me she was ready for community after reading all the personal finance books she could get her hands on. She would read and read and have nobody to talk about it with!

Jessi came to me with the idea of book club (our very first club) and we hosted our first event on September 22, 2020.

Jessi has been leading book club ever since. She does a wonderful job of mixing up the types of books, asking Pledgettes for recommendations, and leading valuable discussions.

Stephanie, Financial Friends Denver

When I think about in-person community, Stephanie always comes to mind. From being a co-founder of The Giving Forward Project, hosting clothing swaps in her real estate office, recruiting speakers for Ignite Denver, and so many of the communities Stephanie is active in, she embodies community and connection so well.

In 2022, I lived in Charlottesville, VA. And Stephanie rose her hand to host some Financial Friends Denver events as I was back and forth and all over. Stephanie also does a wonderful job of finding co-hosts and mixing up our Financial Friends events with some at homes and others in public. Some on the west side and throughout different neighborhoods in Denver.

Stephanie has recently celebrated her 5th anniversary as a Pledgette and has been instrumental in how The Pledgettes has evolved.

Heidi, Movie Club

Heidi is another example of someone who has shaped our community and another 5 year Pledgette!

Last year, Heidi was watching Get Smart with Money and asked if we could have a discussion event about and it was a very easy YES!

This year we made it more official with the Movie Club and will be hosting our first watch party on November 12!

Heidi is a fantastic facilitator with thoughtful questions and allowing space for everyone to participate! She is a life long learning and will to try new things in her financial journey.

Heidi shared that "Hosting movie club got me out of my usual volunteer lane. I'm often asked to do social media and marketing, this was a new challenge for me. I loved brainstorming movie ideas with Jenn, leading discussions, and learning new perspectives from fellow Pledgettes."

Allie, Financial Friends In Transition

Last year, in a Financial Friends Virtual event there were a few people going through a divorce. There was a request for a special event for those who have been through, are going through, and are talking about it.

When I had a call for 2024 Club Hosts, Allie quickly volunteered. For those who joined us at these quarterly events, you experienced Allie's warmth, patience, and empathy.

I first met Allie in January 2022. I remember our first call (where I was and how I felt pre-call and post-call). I instantly knew I was excited about who Allie was as a person and where she would go and I wanted to support her anyway I could. And wow, she has made some moves in the past almost three years!

Allie shared, "Being a Club Host for the Pledgettes was a meaningful way for me to embody my value of giving back and supporting my community. I really enjoyed my time getting to know the members on a deeper level!"

Vanessa, Podcast Club

When I put out the call for Club Hosts in 2024, Vanessa was the first the raise her hand. As an avid podcast listener, she was a great match to host our Podcast Club.

In Vanessa's words, "Hosting the podcast club is a great way to collectively talk about relevant issues in society and how that's affected women and their finances. There's so much more to talk about and learning about ways to use money to fight the patriarchy is my favorite thing to talk about in The Pledgettes. Podcasts are great for this!"

I enjoy listening to podcasts and was thrilled to be a participant in our Podcast Club. This club has been a great way to learn from a podcast and hear other Pledgettes' experiences and perspectives.

Vanessa has been a part of The Pledgettes since 2022. We met because she was curious about impact investing, multiple revenue streams, and women and wealth. She is continuing to set goals unique to her!

Katy, Investing Club

I love when people ask me about what I'm invested in and why. And I want our community to be a place where we share more numbers and more specific experiences with investing.

So, last month, I tested an Investing Club discussion event. It was wonderful!

Those who attended shared that they wanted to do it again. Katy was someone who shared some of her investments in the first event, so I asked if she wanted to host our December Investing Club event! She graciously said yes and is preparing a great discussion on December 4. I hope to see you there!

Beyond Investing Club, Katy joined me at Denver Startup Week this year where we talked to so many incredible women. Katy joined The Pledgettes 5 years ago "to be less frugal" and has done so many incredible money moves in the past years. She shows up to events, connects with Pledgettes over coffee, and confidently talk money.

Jenn, Financial Friends Virtual, Wealthy Working Sessions

I am the original host of this community since 2019 and am grateful for 200+ events that I hosted and welcomed you into. We have been hosting Financial Friends Virtual events from the beginning as a space for you to celebrate wins, share experiences, and ask questions. I love that this continues to be a core of our community.

And our Wealthy Working Sessions are new in this year and have been going great that we now have these virtual coworking events twice a month!
