Celebrate Your Wins for Financial Well-Being

Recently, we led a discussion on Financial Well-Being. One important piece of Financial Well-Being for me is to celebrate the progress made.

Here are three reasons celebration is important.

  1. It’s a moment to pause. If we just put our head down and grind, we never get a moment to pause and see how far we have come.

  2. When our goals feel so far away, integrating celebration gives us a sense of motivation. We can focus on the celebration that we’ll receive when we hit that next milestone. And celebrations are contagious. Once we get one, we are working towards the next one.

  3. Be sure to calibrate wins to your achievement. You don’t want to save money for a down payment on a house, buy a house, and then go into debt because you decided all new furnishings would be your celebration! The house is the celebration of reaching that down payment goal.

We don’t need to spend a lot on our celebrations. At the event, we collectively came up with a number of Financial Celebration ideas from FREE to $1000! Hopefully this list inspires some of your own celebrations.

Do you find yourself with an aversion to the idea of celebrating your achievements? You’re not alone!

Read about how fellow Pledgette Katy Scheigerdt learned to overcome this money block and lean into the party!

Setting goals is fun. Achieving them is even MORE fun.

We mark momentous occasions to kick off our goals - announcing them on social media, telling all our friends, starting journals of our progress.

Let’s do the same when we achieve big things! Today - notice what goals you set in the past three months that you have achieved or made major progress towards. Celebrate yourself!

And notice the women around you who are doing big things - how can you celebrate and congratulate them? Celebration is better in community.
