About

Our Mission

We embolden women to take an active role in their finances because we know the first step to closing the gender wealth gap is learning how to make value-aligned decisions towards your individual financial goals. And when more women take individual action or make money moves, our collective impact grows.

Our Vision

Our goal is to abolish the gender wealth gap so that we can live in wealthier and healthier communities.

Our Values

This is how we CARE about our individual members and our community as a whole:

Community. We believe in the power of collective impact and that every individual action contributes to larger change.

Autonomy. We acknowledge that you are the CEO of your money – setting your direction and making your decisions on your financial journey.

Recognition. We celebrate each other’s successes, milestones, and progress towards individual goals that ultimately contribute to the larger collective impact.

Equity. We value diverse perspectives and all paths to building wealth, and we support each other’s individual financial goals and personal journeys.

Day One

The Pledgettes was founded on August 26, 2019. As we work to abolish the gender wealth gap, it seemed fitting to launch on Women’s Equality Day. We celebrate all the women (and allies) that have gone before us to get us to where we are today. We have come a long way and still have a long way to go. The Pledgettes are committed to being a catalyst to abolish the gender wealth gap.

Our Founder

As a mentor and advocate, Founder Jenn Uhen heard from many women that they will start investing “someday,” or growing up they were taught it is rude to talk about money. These money narratives weren’t serving them to have a healthy relationship with money where they could confidently build wealth. Jenn also noted that women who were confident and clear with their financial goals had these “right-time, right-place conversations.” Jenn had a number of those conversations and saw the impact it made her in life.

Combine these conversations with binge-watching The Handmaid’s Tale, researching the gender income and (more important) wealth gaps, and some infuriating realizations and personal experiences, Jenn knew she had to do something. Jenn built The Pledgettes to democratize access to financial experts, build a supportive space for women to evolve their relationship with money, and create connections so no woman is on her financial journey alone.

Jenn and her husband have clear financial goals, which include a diverse portfolio of investment property, retirement accounts, and businesses. All while living a simple (but comfortable) lifestyle, including traveling the country in an Airstream RV.

Our Members

Our members are all on their own personal financial journey. They have unique goals including becoming an accredited investor, buying real estate, launching a new business, evolving their money mindset, and having better money conversations with their partners. Every member is building their own Financial A-Team, making their own money moves, and participating in our community.

Our Partners

There’s no such thing as the self-made man, which is why we are community-made women. The Pledgettes are stronger because of our collaborations. Each week we bring in a different expert to talk about their favorite money topic. These diverse perspectives and ideas show our members options to build wealth in ways that align with their unique goals and values. The Pledgettes partners with organizations who support our mission and may provide Pledgettes Perks. Check out our Partners page to learn about these awesome speakers and organizations.

We love collaboration!
